However, the most significant change was the new steel track, which transformed it into a smooth masterpiece.

This ride is green! No, it’s not eco-friendly green, but this attraction has a ton of green. Trust me, everything from the track to the lighting is bathed in those iconic gamma rays. That glowing green surroundings set the tone for your plunge into the Hulk’s world even as you wait in line.

One interesting detail is that Universal chose to leave Bruce Banner out of the updated storyline. The focus now is solely on the experiment to transform into the Hulk rather than Banner’s character arc. I am not a huge fan of this decision. Bruce Banner is the Hulk. I feel that the theme should tell that story.

Before You Turn Into The Hulk

Before you Hulk out, you’ll wait in a pretty interesting line queue. It is set up like a lab, and the line features videos and props starring General Ross. He explains his ambitious (and pretty much ill-advised) experiment on turning guests like you into Hulk-like soldiers.

While I’m an old-school comic lover and miss the focus on Bruce Banner in the storyline, the updated theme is still pretty cool.

With that said, the line queue area could use another update. It feels outdated by today’s standards. Maybe they could draw from other Marvel Comics narrative arcs involving The Hulk. But even without that, the ride still builds fantastic anticipation, and once you see those glowing green gamma radiation lights and hear Hulk’s signature roar, you know the wait is almost over.

Turning Into The Hulk On-Ride Experience

Your ride begins incredibly fast. When the countdown hits zero, you’re catapulted out of the gamma radiation chamber. That first launch sends you flying up and into the sky before hurtling through seven inversions, including a Zero-G roll, a cobra roll, and vertical loops.

If you like feeling weightless, this will be your jam. The smooth serpentine track weaving through the intense green will have you gasping in awe.

Other standouts include spinning through several corkscrews before the iconic drop into the mist, a signature scene that makes the experience even more cinematic.

The mist is my favorite part of the ride. I remember experiencing this ride when it first came out, and the mist is what made me remember this ride over other epic roller coasters.

Trust me, it’s a must-do ride if you’re a coaster junkie.

It truly feels like you’re transforming into Hulk while careening through seven inversions at 67 mph. Not much can compare to it.

You May Not Be Able To Turn Green For Awhile

So, let’s talk about wait times. You’ll definitely want to consider this before you ride.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster can build up some serious lines. I’ve seen lines ranging from 60 to 90 minutes on busy theme park days.

While it’s not quite the juggernaut of queue times like Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure or Jurassic World VelociCoaster, it’s still a ride you want to tackle early in your visit to Universal Islands of Adventure.

Pro tip: Use the Single-Rider Line Queue. If you have a small party or are by yourself, you should use the single-rider line to save time waiting in line.

The tire-propelled launch system, which uses 220 electrical drive motors to power the launch, ensures rapid and smooth acceleration, making the ride feel incredibly fluid, even through intense inversions and drops.
